Does Your Classified Ad have Proven Sales Power?
Why proven sales power? It makes sense to use the same techniques that mail order prople use. These techniques have been scientifically proven by testing the headlines and testing the copy of each ad to see what worked and what didn't. The most important part of your ad is the headline. It is sometime referred to as the ad for your ad. The purpose of the headline is to select your prospect and entice them into reading the rest of the ad copy and make a sale or convince them to take some action. Remember that your ad should state the benefits to the prospect and not the features of the product or service. Write several headlines for each ad and pick the best one. These are the four types of appeals for a good headline. Self-Interest News Curiousity Quick, easy way The self-interest of the prospect is the most important, followed by news. It is best to use curiousity in combination with other appeals and not by itself.
